Workflows Dashboard: Archive Workflows

Workflows can be archived when they are no longer in use. Archiving removes a workflow from the default active workflow list without permanently deleting it. Archived workflows can be restored if they are needed again.

Before you begin

Your Alloy account must have a role with the necessary permission to archive or restore workflows. An organization administrator can review or update this permission in Settings > Roles.

If you receive an error while archiving, ask an organization administrator for additional permissions.

How to archive a workflow:

  1. Go to Workflows.

  2. Find the workflow you want to archive.

  3. Open the workflow’s three-dot menu on the right side of the row.

  4. Click Archive Workflow.

What happens after a workflow is archived?

  • The workflow is marked as archived and is no longer shown with active workflows by default.

  • You cannot open an archived workflow to view its details while it remains archived.

  • An archived workflow can still run evaluations through the API, but some dashboard pages may display errors when loading it.

  • Archiving is reversible. You can restore the workflow at any time.

Restore an archived workflow

  1. Go to Workflows.

  2. Set the Archived filter to Archived Workflows or All.

  3. Find the workflow you want to restore. Archived workflows appear greyed out and have an Archived tag.

  4. Open the workflow’s three-dot menu on the right side of the row.

  5. Click Restore Workflow.

After the workflow is restored, you can open it and view its details again.
