Sandbox Profiles coerce specific responses from the Sandbox API without calling any services in Production. Testing Sandbox Profiles is available for Journeys within the Alloy Dashboard UI.
How to Create a Journeys Sandbox Test:
- Open the Journey builder and click Test in the upper right-hand corner.
- Select Sandbox Profiles and click Next.
- Use the dropdown to search for any pre-configured Sandbox Profile (created in the Settings page) or click Add Sandbox Profile. Note that you must choose at least one Sandbox Profile to run a test, but you can select/create multiple Sandbox Profiles.
- If creating a new Sandbox Profile, fill out the required fields along with any additional information. Use +Add Another Attribute to use multiple attributes in a single Sandbox Profile. Click Next to continue.
Note: A Sandbox Profile can only be edited in the Settings page.
-
Branch Name and Entity Type will include options based on the configuration of your Journey, i.e person or business. Select the Branch Name and Entity Type that you'd like to test:
- If multiple Sandbox Profiles are selected, you can link the Profiles together in one Journey Application. To link Profiles together, check the boxes for “Include within the same application.” If left unchecked, an application for each Sandbox profile will be created.
- Fill out any sample data for your test applicant(s) or click Use Sample Data to have Alloy automatically insert fake information. Alloy will never override the unique identifier specified when configuring the Sandbox Profile. Review and click Run Test.
- The loading page will indicate the progress of your Journey Application test.
- Once completed, click View Results.
- You will be taken to the Application Queue with a unique Sandbox Profile test token applied to the search. This will automatically filter for the Journey Application(s) that were created as part of the test.
- Once you click on the application, it’ll be denoted with a few visual indicators to indicate that it’s a test application. It will also specify the sandbox profile that was used when creating the Journey Application.
